
In the North of Scotland, these crannogs stand out against the landscape as a reminder of how our ancestors used to live. This is a watercolour study of the same scene in the oil painting of the same name (see below). In this version, I painted in the buoys, floating around the Crannog - I felt they led the eye nicely to the misty mountain in the background. Original watercolour.
